Ronnie has made significant contributions to the profession, including serving as a lead author of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Appropriate Medical Care Standards for the Secondary School Aged Athlete and spearheading impactful initiatives like the ATLAS Project and Safe Sports School Awards. His work has helped set new standards in athletic training and injury prevention for young athletes. An experienced educator, Ronnie has held academic and leadership roles at institutions such as Mississippi State University, the University of Alabama, and Southeastern Louisiana University. Margaret Downs-West, MS, RDN, LDN, CSSD, ACSM EP-C, is a distinguished sports dietitian and Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Western Carolina University. WESTERN CAROLINA UNIVERSITY | HOME With over two decades of experience, she holds certifications as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN), Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), and is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist (EP-C). Samuel Bullard, MS, RD, LDN, is a dedicated sports dietitian specializing in wrestling nutrition. With a 13-year wrestling background, including experience with a top-ranked high school team, Samuel combines personal insight with professional expertise to offer tailored nutritional guidance to athletes. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a Clinical Concentration from Georgia Gwinnett College in 2019, followed by a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Georgia State University in 2021. His academic achievements include Cum Laude honors, President’s List recognition, and publication in the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance (JOPERD). Samuel's professional experience includes interning with sports dietitians at Georgia Tech, where he worked with the football team, and providing nutritional counseling to the Penn College Wrestling Team through My Sports Dietitian. In December 2021, he founded Bullard Nutrition, focusing on delivering evidence-based nutrition coaching to wrestlers at high school and collegiate levels.
